John is a local born and bred lad from just outside our neighbouring village Rudgwick.
Stepping out into the big wide world in '88 meant John began his working life at Searcy's Outside Caterers and Event Organisers where he was involved in some of the biggest events in the UK and throughout Europe.
After six very happy years, 1994 brought some change which took John into freelance work organising events for his own client base to actively instructing outdoor team bonding pursuits such as 4 x 4 and rally driving.
John first became involved in Polo in 1996, organising larger events for different patrons, be it at private or some of the larger clubs. These events led John into line with the arrival of Pommery in 1998 for their 1st Prince of Wales Trophy at the Berkshire Polo Club.
From Polo Horses to Prancing Horses, two years on John moved to the Formula 1 circuit carrying out hospitality logistics for Ferrari/Philip Morris which gave many happy years traveling the race circuits of the world.
From one horsepower to another, John took charge of events at Ascot Park Polo Club in the summer of 2003 and by Christmas of that year, the Grace family - owners of the Club - had given John full responsibility for the day to day running of the Club.
He then began overseeing and organising all club logistics - from the everyday involvement of the big events such as the Women's Nationals - to City and City Pro-Am Championships. The sole aim of everyday was to get polo out to as many people as possible whilst maintaining a good quality of polo throughout the cub whether on grass or in the arena.
Now that John has joined Hurtwood this too is one of his main aims and Hurtwood's future is sure to only benefit from having him as a key member of the team.
